To ensure optimal performance of your watch, MATWATCHES recommends that you have it serviced at intervals. How often it needs to be serviced depends on the conditions under which it is used. We usually advise our customers to rub the watch case gently with a microfibre cloth so as not to scratch it. It is important to screw down the winder crown and the chronograph buttons properly after the resetting the time. After a dip in salt water, it is best to rinse your watch in fresh water, rotating the bezel. This will remove any salt and sand that might obstruct the bezel.
MATWATCHES products are made by craftsmen skilled in the art of watchmaking. The watches are assembled by highly experienced French or Swiss watchmakers. They take the greatest care in ensuring optimal adjustment and complete water tightness. That is why it is important to have your watch serviced every four or five years, to ensure that it lasts and runs reliably. Because your watch is always working away on your wrist, you are recommended to have it serviced regularly to keep it in good condition.
Payment by bank card
To keep your payments secure, we use “CM-CIC p@iement”, the bank card payment solution developed by our bank, CIC. Using this system, your payment by card is made directly on our bank’s secure server on our behalf. At no time is your card number, or any other related confidential data, passed to us. Transmission is encrypted and secured using the SSL 3 (Secure Socket Layer) protocol over the Internet. This protocol has become a worldwide standard and is recognised by all the main browsers.

To make a payment in this way, select “Pay by bank transfer” when placing your order.
If you are transferring money, remember that it may be several days – even a week in the case of international transfers – before the money is credited to our account. As soon as we have received the amount due, we will process your order and you will receive an email telling you that payment has been made for your order. After making the transfer, email us so that your order can be processed as quickly as possible.

WHAT ABOUT DELIVERY?
The cost of preparation, quality control and dispatch is free of charge in Metropolitan France! All our dispatches are TRACKED and handed over AGAINST SIGNATURE. The carrier is selected by us, depending on the destination. The parcels are very carefully packed and protected, and the watches are delivered in a presentation case containing the straps with tools for reversing them. Parcels are usually sent out within 10 days of receiving your payment. Outside France, the cost of preparation, quality control and dispatch is set country by country. Orders placed for delivery to an address outside the European Union will be invoiced exclusive of taxes, customs duties and import duties. These must be paid by the recipient of the goods, whose responsibility it is to do what is necessary to pay these taxes. Delivery is made to the delivery address given by the customer, it being specified that this must be the home address of the customer or any other natural person of the customer’s choice. Delivery cannot be made either to hotels or PO boxes. It should be noted that customers cannot amend the delivery address after the order has been placed. You must check that the parcel appears to be in order (inside and out) in the delivery driver’s presence. If you have any doubts over the parcel’s integrity, you should refuse it, failing which you could accept it and note reservations on the delivery note. If you issue reservations, you should also notify them to the carrier by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt within time limit of 48 hours, and on the same day send us a copy of this letter, together with a copy of the invoice and the original packet.
MER-AIR-TERRE watches are the product of cutting-edge watchmaking techniques, and are guaranteed for two years against all manufacturing faults. This guarantee takes effect on the date of sale recorded by your seller on the back of your guarantee card, which you will find in your box.
This guarantee does not cover problems arising from improper use, obvious impact damage on the watch case, repairs done by an unaccredited retailer or by inappropriate use of the watch. Regarding our after sales department, all work is covered by a 12-month guarantee covering the work done only. The guarantee does not extend to normal wear and tear, or to damage caused by the user.
This guarantee lapses if work is undertaken to by persons other that MATWATCHES personnel or accredited retailers. The guarantee is extended by one year for each repaired watch, and we send it back to you at our expense. Each watch we replace, however, is guaranteed for 2 years!

MER-AIR-TERRE accepts payment by bank transfer and by bank card if you buy via the E-store and by cheque and cash if you go directly to the Paris showroom.
Watches are delivered with three straps and a tool. It is very easy to replace the strap yourself using the little tool provided for the purpose.
You have 14 days from the date of receiving the items to decide whether you want to keep them. For exchange or refund, contact us and then send the new item/items in their original packaging, intact, together with the purchase invoice, to the following address:

If you exercise the right to cancel, MER-AIR-TERRE is required to refund the amounts paid by the customer, without charge, except the return carriage expenses. Initial carriage expenses will be refunded only for deliveries in Metropolitan France. MERAIRTERRE undertakes to refund Users exercising their cancellation rights as soon as possible, and at the latest within 30 days of exercise of their cancellation rights.
MATWATCHES will refund Users for Products returned, provided the above terms have been observed, together with the basic “outward” order delivery charges if the User is returning the whole order. If the User does not return the whole order and retains one or more of the Products ordered, all the “outward” delivery charges will be kept by MERAIRTERRE.
Automatic-rewinding mechanical watches are more sensitive to magnetic fields than Quartz watches are. For that reason, we advise you to wear your watch on a wrist with nothing else on it likely to produce magnetic fields that could cause your timepiece to malfunction. Magnetising your watch could cause major problems, making it go fast or slow. If that happened, it would then have to be de-magnetised.
